 You may probably heard or read somewhere that when it comes to beauty and skincare,you should be using products  meant for skin type.

Skincare products aren't one-sise-fits-all magic portions(although, wouldn't that make life so much easier ?, so it's important to know what type of skin you're working with so you can get the most out of your skincare routine. 

Why do i need to know my skin type 

In order to practice your most  effective skincare, it's absolutely important to know your skin type. 

Back in the day, ladies had a limited selection of skincare items to choose from, like those perfumey"all purpose"cold creams on your grandma 's bathroom counter.Today there's an unending variety  of formulas tailored to care for our unique skin types, but they only work their best if you use the one mearnt for your skin!

If you misdiagnose your skin type and use the wrong  products, it can aggravate skin and lead to irritation, excess oil,breakout or drying out skin which can make  wrinkles more apparent 

SKIN TYPE AND SKIN CONDITIONS 

It's important to note the difference between skin type and skincare concerns when it comes to care and treatment. 

Concerns can include things like wrinkle or sign of aging, hyperpigmentation or temporary dryness and can span across different skin types.For instance, many people think that acne-prone skin is a type;however, people  with all types of skin can struggle with acne.skin conditions might also change over time, or can be affected by environment,age or hormone changes.For example, your skin may get more oily in summer but needs to be slathered with lotion in the winter.Or you might experience more acne or oily skin as a teenager, or at certain times in your cycle.in these cases, your skin concerns may have changed, but your skin type typically remains the same. Keep this in mind when choosing skincare products.You may have to find some separate ones to tackle temporary concerns, but you should get a solid skincare routine of products that match your skin type.

HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR SKIN TYPE

Everyone's skin is normal to them, but in order to care for diverse skin types,we often group people into some  skin categories. 

Ascertaining your skin type is an important first step in knowing how to treat your skin,what products to use, and how have perfect skin. 

STEP 1

Washing your face to remove make-up.wash with a gentle cleanser and pat dry.

This cleans away oils and dirt that may have accumulated during your day, giving your skin a fresh start. Do not over wash though. 

STEP 2

Wait for 30 minutes

During this time, your skin should return to its natural state, the characteristics of which will determine your skin type. 

Act normally and don't touch your face. 

STEP 3

Dab your face with tissue.

Pay attention to the 'T-zone ' -the area of your forehead and nose. 

STEP 4

Skin falls into four types~

Normal ;

Oily;

Dry and 

Combination. 

Normal skin shows neither oil not flaking skin.It should feel supple and smooth. If you have it consider yourself lucky. 

Oily skin is characterized by the grease on the tissue. It is also common for a person with oily skin to have large pores and a shine.

Dry skin may feel taut or show flakes of dead skin. It is associated with small pores.Moisturizing is important for this skin type. 

Combination skin is most common. It exhibits trait of all three of the above skin type. Usually, the skin is oily in the T-zone and normal to dry elsewhere. 

OILY SKIN 

This is caused by glands that produce too much sebum, resulting in skin that has a greasy slippery texture, appears shinning and it frequently has large clogged pores.

Oily skin types are prone to develop acne.A condition resulting from sebum trapped inside the skin and causing pus-filled.Despite the drawback, oily skin generally remains younger looking and more supple over time than other skin types. Oily skin benefits from periodic herbal steam treatment and day mask. 

TREATMENT ÷ Neutrogena at night like two times in a week or deep and clean products to scrub their faces in the night,they also use toner,moisturizers,clean before sleeping at night, it has to be alcohol free.

NORMAL SKIN 

The oil gland produces sebum at moderate rate, resulting in a balance state. Normal skin shows neither oil nor flaking skin it should feel supple and smooth, if you have it,consider yourself lucky. 

TREATMENT 

It benefits from regular cleansing, toning and moisturizing. 

DRY SKIN 

This is caused by under or inactive oil glands that do not produce enough sebum to keep the skin naturally lubricated,it usually has a dull appearance,feel  dry and itchy and is sometimes sensitive. Dry skin must be hydrated regularly from inside with (fresh water) and from the outside with mists as well as moisturized with rich hydrating creams or lotions this kind of skin gets even out without applying powder. They normally have whitish colour on their face, they have wrinkle skin.

TREATMENT 

Use scrub once or twice a week, at most three days interval before scrubbing. Use moisturizer to balance their skin or toner that contains oil.

ADVICE;Matt foundation is best suitable for oily skin, and a good face primer.

SENSITIVE SKIN 

Can be dry,normal or oily and it's characterized by delicacy That is why we feel it is more of a skin condition than a type. It frequently reacts adversely to environment condition and often requires special treatment in order to remain in good condition, The skin type is prone to oily type ingredients, fragrance oil and artificial colours. 

TREATMENT 

Sensitive skin benefits greatly from natural, gentle skin care products treatment including light steaming and some essential oils. 

COMBINATION SKIN TYPE 

Most people have at least two different type of facial skin at any given time. The combination of skin is frequently characterized by an oily "T-zone "area which covers the forehead, nose and chin.while the skin around cheeks,eyes and mouth is normal and dry.These different types of skin calls for different treaments, so people with combination skin should Access their skin regularly and use different product on different areas of the face..
